Interested in all UE Loyalist Families of Douglastown and New Carlisle, from 1784, including notes regarding their American origins, military and family histories, descendants, land holdings, and so on....

Relative to Loyalist settlement at Douglastown strong interest is focused on the elusive William ALLEN and his associates.

Relative to settlement in New Carlisle, my personal Loyalist interest extends to facts concerning Lawrence McKENZIE, his wife Mary CRAIG, and their children - including known daughters Margaret [married to 1) RAFTER 2) ALLEN]; Eleanor/Helen [married to THOMPSON]; and Sarah; and two or three sons, names presently unknown [possibly John, Lawrence and/or William].

Interest in later settlers around New Carlisle concerns such names as JEUNE/JENNE [from Jersey, 1874] and SHIELDS & YOUNG [from Ireland, circa 1820].

All enquiries responded to.

Robert Bond is looking for:
(New March 2006)
My gr gr grandfather, Joseph Bond, came to Canada with his brothers, George & Jacob, on a sailing ship from Dublin, Ireland to Halifax, Nova Scotia. I haven't as yet been able identify this ship. Jacob went across the States (U.S.) to Baltimore, Maryland. George moved up the St. Lawrence to what was then York (Toronto) on Lake Ontario. Joseph remained for a time at Campbellton, N. B. with relatives named Parker. This is the family I would like to make contact with in New Brunswick.

Joseph was a youngster of about 18 at the time. He left New Brunswick and came up to Kingston, Ontario which was a very important town (a Military Fort at that time). This information was taken from notes as related by George Malborough Bond in the 1930's which I have just obtained from a cousin. Joseph ended up in Lanark County, Ontario where he met Henrietta Lake, who he married 30 Dec 1834 at Carleton Place, Lanark County, Upper Canada (now Ontario). It is at this point that I have charted my Bond ancestor family and have identified many descendants. Joseph & Henrietta had 11 children.

It is now my goal to first see (ship) how Joseph & his brothers got to Halifax from Dublin and to further identify his father (George) who I have very information on. Perhaps if I can make contact with a researcher of the Parker family, I can find out more.
